Committees

LHAIA Committees

The following briefly describes our standing committees, and the contact person if you are interested in volunteering. By establishing a strong Committee organization, community attention can be given to specific issues on a more timely basis.

  • Communications – The Communications Committee exists to assist the VP of Communications in accurately and timely communicating the interests and needs of the LHAIA.
  • Membership – The Membership Committe exists to assist the VP of Membership in all matters of pertaining to soliciting, sustaining and keeping an accurate data base of current LHAIA member organziations.
  • Crime Watch – Assimilate and analyze data regarding criminal activity; connect with Dallas Police Department, Apartment and Zoning/Code Enforcement committees; administer emergency notification system for the Lake Highlands community.
  • Retail CommitteeSusan Morgan – Market Lake Highlands to maintain a balance of generic retail, specialty retail and restaurant options.
  • Economic Development – Engage in long-range planning; asset management, citizen involvement in local and state governments.
  • Code & Zoning – Assimilate and analyze data regarding zoning and code enforcement issues; formulate objectives, enforce ordinance compliance; connect with Apartment and Crime Watch committees.
  • Lake Highlands Attorney Advisory GroupSteve Wakefield – The Attorney Advisory Group was implemented at LHAIA President Steve Wakefield's request to assist with legal issues and lawsuits that affect the Lake Highlands area.
  • Lake Highlands Historical AssociationRobin Norcross
  • Signs & Beautification – Assimilate data, resources and volunteers to improve function, appearance and signage of public property and facilities.
