Crime Watch Committee
The mission of the Crime Watch Committee of the LHAIA is as follows:
- deter theft, vandalism and all criminal activity
- develop a close liaison between the community and the Dallas Police Department (DPD)
- educate our community and those who live about crime prevention
- implement innovative crime prevention measures
- foster an atmosphere of community spirit and camaraderie among the citizens
- establish communication among the residents and the DPD whereby the residents will have up-to-date information on criminal activity
- increase the number of volunteers
To help LHAIA accomplish its public safety mission we will:
- serve as a liaison between LHAIA, DPD and other city departments
- conduct quarterly crime prevention workshops and educational seminars
- conduct quarterly crime prevention workshops and educational seminars
- assist in the recruitment and training of VIP, CHIPS, and other crime watch volunteers
- help coordinate the efforts of the volunteers with the police reserves
- provide LHAIA with crime stats for the association area and for each of the member homeowners areas
- assist volunteer groups develop action plans to address crime fighting in their neighborhoods
- monitor all crime initiatives within the association area
